Established in 1985, Moon Hall School is a specialist school for dyslexic children aged 7 to 12. It occupies a site within the grounds of Belmont Preparatory School with which it has a close relationship.
Moon Hall School has a long established reputation for providing an excellent primary education for dyslexic pupils, who go on to achieve considerable success both educationally and in their subsequent careers. The school received an Outstanding inspection report by ISI following its most recent inspection in December 2010.
Apart from their academic education and some other non-academic lessons, Moon Hall School pupils are treated in all other respects as pupils of Belmont. They wear the Belmont uniform, play sport and enjoy other activities with the Belmont pupils.
At the end of Year 6, Moon Hall School pupils have the options of applying to join the last two years at Belmont School if they are able by then to meet Belmont’s academic criteria, or of transferring to Moon Hall College which starts the pupils’ preparation for GCSE in Year 7 (College 1), or of going on to another school.
